Tottenham Hotspur winger has given himself a chance he did not have last season.
Tottenham Hotspur’s low key summer has provided the perfect opportunity for young winger Anthony Georgiou to stake his claim.
Spurs have seen potential winger signings slip beyond their grasp, with Wilfried Zaha, Bruma and Diego Costa, with Thomas Lemar also looking too expensive.
With winger Erik Lamela also out injured and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou still trying to find his feet, Georgiou has stepped up with a couple of high profile displays.

Georgiou was impressive in the friendly win over Roma and at the weekend against Juventus, posing problems for well regarded defences with his willingness to take players on.
The 20-year-old missed most of last season with the under-23s due to injury, which means he has been fresh and is looking to make up for lost time.

Mauricio Pochettino may have loaned out Josh Onomah due to competition in central midfielder, but winger is a position where Spurs are not very strong in terms of depth, and Georgiou has shown – albeit briefly – an ability to make an impact.
He deserves an opportunity to prove himself a valuable squad player for Spurs, and he is at the right club if he is after first team chances.
Last season it was Harry Winks who made the breakthrough to establish himself as a first team star, stepping up from under-23 level.
Anthony Georgiou has shown he has a real shot of becoming 2017/18’s top Tottenham talent to watch.
