Liverpool face Newcastle on Thursday evening, and, with all due respect, this should be a very straightforward affair for the Reds.

Indeed, Liverpool are red-hot right now and they look almost unbeatable.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have won just one league game all season and they shouldn’t provide Jurgen Klopp’s side with too stern of a test here.

However, as we should all know by now, anything can happen in football and Klopp’s side still can’t afford to be complacent despite the gulf in quality between the two teams.

With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting the Reds’ starting XI for this one.

We think that Jurgen Klopp will make two changes to the side that beat Southampton at the weekend.

Joel Matip comes in for Ibrahima Konate, while Roberto Firmino is straight back into the starting XI after going down with injury in early November.

Firmino hasn’t started a league game since October, and usually, we wouldn’t tip him to return straight to the XI, but a game against Newcastle gives him the perfect chance to hit the ground running upon his return.

Diogo Jota doesn’t drop out of the side after his brace against the Saints, as he moves to the left wing in place of Sadio Mane who gets a rest ahead of this weekend’s game against Tottenham.
