Celtic fans are set for disappointment over a certain Marian Shved.

Despite making just three senior appearances for Celtic, the Ukraine winger is a popular figure among fans of the Parkhead club.

Just this week, the Hoops’ Twitter account was posting pictures of individual players who had returned to Lennoxtown for training, and many of the responses were demanding photos of Shved.

But there were none and now we know why – because Shved looks set to leave.

According to the 22-year-old’s father Vasily, there’ll be clarity about his ‘next club’ imminently.

He told The Scottish Sun: “I think there will be clarity about Marian’s next club very soon. It’s in the hands of his agent now.

“The Scottish league was ended prematurely and Marian returned home due to the coronavirus and he kept himself in very good shape here.”

The phrase ‘next club’ is pretty telling here as it indicates that Shved – a £2.2 million signing by Brendan Rodgers 18 months ago – is leaving in some capacity.

Whether that’s on loan or a permanent exit remains to be seen, but one thing for sure is that the Celtic supporters might never get to see the player fulfill his potential in Glasgow.
