France’s Moussa Sissoko in action with Switzerland’s Xherdan Shaqiri
Spurs increase Sissoko bid
Tottenham have upped their bid for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko to £21 million, according to L’Equipe.
The sum still falls well below the £30 million valuation place on the Frenchman by the Magpies but it is an indication that talks are ongoing.
Sissoko has made his desire to leave St James Park clear all summer and this is one deal that looks set to go to the wire.
Middlesbrough’s Albert Adomah

Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah is currently undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Aston Villa, as reported by Sky Sports.
The 28-year old is set to join Roberto Di Matteo’s squad with Adama Traore going in the opposite direction.
The Barcelona academy product failed to make an impact at Villa park and the club will hope Adomah fares better.
Republic of Ireland’s James McCarthy as Italy’s Stefano Sturaro sustains an injury
Celtic still keen on McCarthy
Celtic are still interested in taking out-of-favour Everton midfielder James McCarthy on loan, according to the Daily Mail’s live transfer feed.
Wages are proving a stumbling block however and the Toffees are reluctant to let the 25-year old leave at this late stage, despite his fall down the pecking order.
Philippe Senderos
Rangers expect to complete Senderos deal
Rangers are confident of finally securing a deal for former Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The 31-year old has been linked with the Gers for several weeks but complications had threatened to scupper the move as recently as yesterday.
That no longer appears to be the case however, and Mark Warburton could soon be welcoming his second central defensive signing of the summer.
