Nottingham Forest are taking a look at hiring Oscar Garcia for their vacant manager job.
According to France Football, Forest have made contact with the former Brighton boss as they seek to replace Mark Warburton.
Garcia’s most recent job came at Saint-Etienne in France where he lasted five months.
The Spaniard’s potential arrival at the City Ground would be particularly interesting for summer signing Liam Bridcutt.
The £1 million summer signing from Leeds played under Garcia previously at Brighton, but during his time there he pushed through an exit to Sunderland.
Garcia spent part of his stint at the Amex being quizzed about Bridcutt’s future, as Gus Poyet sought to bring him to Sunderland.
Bridcutt ended up getting his way, but not before he was left out of the Brighton squad for not being 100 per cent focused, Garcia told The Argus.
The midfielder did leave the club on good terms, and ultimately it would have been harsh of Brighton to deny the midfielder a shot at Premier League football.
Now back as a Championship regular, Garcia and Bridcutt could face an interesting reunion, but not necessarily a negative one.
