Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie is set to decide whether he should join Tottenham Hotspur or Juventus this summer.
According to a report from The Times, the Serie A outfit have already agreed terms with Barcelona over a loan deal for Franck Kessie.
However, the same outlet also states that the 26-year-old is still considering which club he should move to during the current transfer window.
Kessie signed for Xavi’s side last summer, arriving at the Spotify Camp Nou after his contract at AC Milan expired, but only managed to make seven starts in the 2022/23 La Liga campaign.
Franck Kessie could replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
It would not be a surprise to see Kessie come in to replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Last month, the Daily Mail reported that Atletico Madrid were in talks with Spurs to sign the Dane.
On that note, while Kessie probably did not have the best campaign last term, he could still be a good replacement for Hojbjerg.
The Ivorian is a midfielder with a lot of experience and power, with former AC Milan forward Antonio Cassano once comparing him to his compatriot Yaya Toure.
All in all, Kessie could be a shrewd addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad if Tottenham can convince the £199,000-a-week star (Salary Sport) to join them this summer. Whether they will be able to do that remains to be seen, but he is certainly a player worth pursuing.
The north London club have done well by managing to bring James Maddison in from Leicester City. The England international should be able to add a bit more creativity to their side this upcoming season. However, they will probably need a little bit more than that if they are to qualify for the Champions League and have a successful campaign.
