According to The Times (page 66), Arsenal are interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb forward Mislav Orsic, whose name might ring a bell.
Why? Well, the 28-year-old recently put Tottenham to the sword with a hat-trick in the Europa League Round of 32 clash against the north Londoners.
His efforts helped Dinamo Zagreb overturn a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2.
The Times claim that Arsenal are monitoring the 6-cap Croatia international following his heroics in Europe, and that comes as no surprise.
Following his hat-trick, Orsic now has 19 goals in all competitions this season, which is mightily impressive.
He is such a dangerous player that José Mourinho even made sure to show videos of him to his Tottenham players, warning them of his quality.
Football London quote the 58-year-old as saying: “The first thing I tell you, which you can believe or not believe. My players they watch and watch and watch Orsic’s actions during his career.
“That is the only thing I can say. I prepared my players to play against Orsic, I gave them all information to play against him and that is the only thing I can say.”
Either the Tottenham players weren’t paying attention, or Orsic really is too hot to handle, as he completely tore Spurs apart on March 18th.
In that respect, Arsenal fans should be excited about this transfer rumour.
If a manager of Mourinho’s experience is sweating over Orsic’s talents, then he really must be a top-class forward.
His exceptional goal tally this term proves that anyway.
With Orsic on the left, Saka on the right and either Gabriel Martinelli or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the middle, Mikel Arteta could have a lethal frontline on his hands.
