Leeds United are reportedly keen on Josko Gvardiol.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed last weekend that the Elland Road club were in talks with Dinamo Zagreb about bringing the youngster to West Yorkshire in what would be an £18 million deal.
Despite being just 18, and having only 13 senior appearances under his belt, Gvardiol is considered a rising star in European football, so much so that even Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola is reportedly aware of him.
And his manager, Zoran Mamic, has been absolutely raving about the prodigy, who can either play in central defence or left-back.
The Dinamo boss told Scouted Football that his player is viewed as an absolute ‘superstar’ in the making and gave a detailed insight into the player’s attributes.
He said: “He is fast, so even if he makes a mistake, he can make it back. He pushes the line forward which is important for us here because we are dominating most of the games and playing possession-based football.
“He pushes the line to the centre of the pitch without problem; he knows he can catch the player. He is amazingly athletic. He has been like a superstar for a long time for our academy.”
So there you have it, Gvardiol, according to his coach, is the real deal and it’ll be fascinating to see how he develops at Leeds, if a deal does indeed materialise.

Sportske Novosti reported earlier in September that the player expects to face Ferencvaros in a Champions League qualifier this coming Wednesday.
