Reported Leeds United target Habib Diallo has admitted that he is uncertain whether or not he will leave Metz for England this summer but a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool would certainly appeal, speaking during an Instagram Live session.

A Senegal international would have been more disappointed than most to learn that the Ligue 1 season would be brought to a premature conclusion amid the ongoing global health crisis.

After all, the 2019/20 campaign has been the making of one of Europe’s most underrated goal-getters. Diallo found the net an impressive 12 times in 26 games for Metz this season, catching the eye of a whole host of clubs on the other side of the Channel.

LeFoot reports that Leeds will look to reinforce an often misfiring frontline with the £18 million-rated Diallo if Marcelo Bielsa finally leads the sleeping giants back to the Premier League.

Leicester City, Watford, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked too, via TEAMtalk. But how does Diallo see his future panning out in the weeks and months ahead?

“I don’t know if I’m going to leave or stay. I still have two years left on my contract at Metz,” Diallo says, before admitting that one Premier League club had caught his eye.

“I’m watching Liverpool,” he adds, while suggesting that he would also struggle to turn down approaches from Chelsea and Manchester City too.

While Diallo appears to be in the dark about a summer move, Metz president Bernard Serin seems ready to cash in to offset the financial problems the Ligue 1 outfit are likely to face during the absence of professional football.

“He is 24-years-old, it is time for him to pursue his career elsewhere,” Serin tells FranceBlue. “Our objective is to sell Habib Diallo.”
