
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud praised Leeds United on Sky Sports Football (10:08pm, December 5, 2020).
Giroud scored against Leeds in the 3-1 win for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday evening.
After the Premier League match, the French striker – who cost Chelsea £18 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Arsenal in January 2018, as reported by The Telegraph- spoke highly of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard also praised Leeds for the way they played against the Blues.
Giroud said on Sky Sports Football (10:08pm, December 5, 2020), as transcribed by BBC Sport: “They [Leeds] were one of the best teams I have faced since a few months.
“Physically they run everywhere. It was so hard. It’s a great feeling to win tonight and they drew against Man City and lost just to Liverpool. They really impress me. They are a good team.”
BBC Sport quotes Lampard as saying: “Leeds are a superb team. They are pretty unique in their style and they’re well coached.”

Bouncing back
Leeds are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 14 points from 11 matches.
The West Yorkshire club will return to action on Friday evening when they take on West Ham United at Elland Road in the league.
