Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that Gabriel Martinelli could play against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium in North London this weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will lock horns with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby on Sunday.

The match will be held at the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Martinelli could play for Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

Gabriel Martinelli is injured at the moment.

The £180,000-a-week (The Sun) star suffered an injury against Everton in the Premier League last weekend.

The 22-year-old Brazil international forward “felt something in his hamstring” and did not play against PSV in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Arsenal manager Arteta has said that there is a chance that Martinelli could feature against Tottenham in the North London derby.

Arteta said, as quoted in Football.London: “With Gabi we’re still assessing him so let’s see if he can make the game or not.”

Potential Gabriel Martinelli boost for Arsenal

In our view, if Gabriel Martinelli is able to play for Arsenal against Tottenham Hotspur, then it will enhance their chances of winning the North London derby.

True, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is unlikely to risk starting Martinelli, but the Brazilian could come off the bench.

Arteta has publicly ruled out playing Thomas Partey against Tottenham due to injury.

He is still hopeful of having Martinelli in his squad for the Premier League game this weekend.

That should encourage the Emirates Stadium faithful.
