A claim has been made that Kaleel Green is set to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
It seemed like the teenager was in Mikel Arteta’s plans, as he was spotted training ahead of his side’s 1-0 victory against Leicester City in February.
But now, it seems like Kaleel Green and Arsenal are set to part ways.
Kaleel Green set for Arsenal exit in the summer
The Gunners do not have a shortage of potential superstars at their disposal.
The likes of Charlie Patino, Ethan Nwaneri, Amario Cozier-Duberry, Lino Sousa and Reuell Walters seem destined for greatness.
As a result, the Emirates faithful perhaps need not be worried about another huge name in the making leaving the club.
Youth team expert Jeorge Bird, who specialises in such developments related to Arsenal has reported that Kaleel Green looks set to depart London Colney after his contract expires in June.
Joining the club from Southampton’s academy in 2021, his spell at one of the country’s best academies seems like it has come to an abrupt end.
HITC View: Part and parcel of football
One can imagine that several Arsenal fans that expected Kaleel Green to contend for a first-team spot in the future must be gutted.
First things first, seeing how Green is primary a striker who can also play on the wing, the club already have these areas of the pitch covered.
Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard as well as Folarin Balogun are names that are far more established presences and would outperform the youngster currently.
Furthermore, this is part and parcel of football and considering Arsenal’s eye for youth talent, they perhaps felt he would not make the cut within their ranks.
Even if this decision comes back to bite Mikel Arteta and Co., the club themselves have top talents at their disposal that would likely ease the pain of losing him.
