Leeds loanee Mallik Wilks netted for Accrington again.
Leeds United beat Burnley in the Carabao Cup to get one over on the Premier League side which featured both Charlie Taylor and Chris Wood.
Away from Turf Moor, young Leeds striker Mallik Wilks made a successful night for the Whites even better.
The 18-year-old striker has been in impressive form on loan at Accrington Stanley and scored once again.
Wilks featured for Accrington’s first team against Middlesbrough’s under-23 side in the Checkatrade Trophy and netted in a 3-2 victory.
The teenager has now scored three goals in six games for the club and is beginning to make a name for himself.
Many of his appearances have been from the bench and in League Two he is averaging a goal every 57 minutes.
The Checkatrade Trophy may be a derided competition but a final at Wembley awaits the winner and every game is a good opportunity for Wilks to get good match experience.
The young striker made his Leeds debut in the FA Cup last season but has yet to feature in the Championship.
If he can continue scoring for Accrington at a rate of one every two games then he will stand a chance of getting in the mix when his loan spell ends.
