The talented teenager will leave when his contract expires in the summer.
Blackburn’s Tre Pemberton in action with Aston Villa’s Johan Abdoul
There has been plenty of discussion in recent weeks surrounding the future of Aston Villa’s French left-back Jordan Amavi and a potential exit for the player.
While he may very well be on his way, one French defender at Villa is definitely leaving.
Johan Abdoul has informed the press in France that he will be leaving Aston Villa this summer. In conversation with SFR Sport the 18-year-old talent confirmed he will be leaving Villa when his contract with the club expires this summer.
The talented teen, who can play at centre-back or operate as a left-back, is considered a hot prospect so his departure may come as something of a surprise.
He joined Villa in July 2015 from AC Boulogne-Billancourt with the hope of becoming a success in the Midlands but he has decided his career would be better served if he headed elsewhere.
General view of Villa Park
This season he has played seven times in Premier League 2 and once in the FA Youth Cup, scoring in a 2-1 defeat against Manchester City’s young guns.
Aston Villa fans never got to see the best of Abdoul. In the years to come they will hope they are not left rueing his exit if he goes on to be a star elsewhere.
