Zenit St Petersburg will listen to offers of £25 million for title-winning talisman Sardar Azmoun with Arsenal, Everton and Leicester City interested, according to Calciomercato.

There is a right way to leave a club and a wrong way.

After firing Zenit to the Russian Premier League title with a brilliant brace in the 4-2 triumph over Krasnodar last week, it seems that Azmoun is about to ride off into the sunset as the Prince of St Petersburg.

In quotes reported by Corriere dello Sport a few weeks ago, the Iranian international admitted that he was looking for a ‘new challenge’ after eight years in Russia.

And, after hitting 18 goals in just 34 games this season, a forward who continues to be labelled the ‘Iranian Messi’, albeit due to his prolific strike-rate rather than any stylistic similarities, will not be short of offers.

A Leicester side looking to ease the goal scoring burden on the ageing and increasingly inconsistent Jamie Vardy made an enquiry in March, alongside a West Ham side who appear to be already accepting defeat with the injury-hit Sebastien Haller (AreaNapoli).

Perhaps Farhad Moshiri could get the man he has been following for years, with AreaNapoli reporting that Everton are keen to bring their majority shareholder’s fellow Iranian to Goodison Park.

With a £25 million price-tag on his head, Azmoun will certainly come cheaper than the likes of Victor Osimhen, Andrea Belotti or Ciro Immobile.

Arsenal have also been linked, via AreaNapoli.

With even Europa League football looking like a distant dream at present (and that alone shows how far this once-great club has fallen), even £25 million could prove to be a little steep for the Gunners.
