Glasgow Rangers talent Dapo Mebude is star worth keeping an eye on.

Steven Gerrard shakes hands with Dave King as he is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been keen for some of the best young talent at the club to go out on loan, certainly those who are not quite ready for the first team.

Zak Rudden, Ryan Hardie and Liam Burt are among the attacking players sent out to Scottish clubs in the lower leagues in order to gain experience.

Their temporary departures have opened up opportunities for player ready to work for under-20s boss Graeme Murty.

17-year-old striker Dapo Mebude is an early beneficiary.

Mebude started for Rangers’ under-20 side this week in the win over Dundee United.

19-year-old striker Andy Dallas scored the winner, set up by the impressive Mebude after he won the ball back for the Gers and played in his teammate.

Mebude has been making waves in Rangers’ academy since he was 15, and is a terrific prospect.

His first goals for the under-20s came last season, although he has largely been stuck behind Zak Rudden in the pecking order.

Now he could be in for a run of games, and this week’s effort continued to show he has a lot to offer.
