He is only 17 but Mateusz Musialowski has just humbled Liverpool team-mates Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.
Liverpool confirmed this morning that the 17-year-old academy gem has won the club’s Goal of the Month award for March.
Musialowski scored a stunning solo effort in a youth win over Newcastle United last month, gliding past a number of players before expertly curling into the far corner.
In doing so, the Under-18s gem beat Salah and Jota, who finished in second and third place respectively.
Salah’s opener against Red Bull Leipzig was voted as Liverpool’s second best goal for March, ahead of Jota’s winner on his return to Wolverhampton Wanderers before the international break.
The Anfield club have quite a lot of promising players coming through the ranks – like Billy Koumetio and Harvey Elliott to name a few – but the way in which Musialowski effortlessly breezed past so many players against the Magpies might be a big indication that he too is very much one to watch.
