Patrick Cutrone could be forced to make an awkward return to Wolverhampton Wanderers with Fiorentina turning their attention to Andrea Belotti, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
And if La Viola are serious about raiding Serie A rivals Torino for their influential captain, there will not be much room left in the budget to turn Cutrone’s loan deal into a permanent transfer.
According to recent claims from TMW, Torino value Belotti, an old-school barrel-chested number nine who has become a key part of the Italian national team under Roberto Mancini, is valued at somewhere in the region of £50 million.
If that record-breaking deal goes through, Wolves may find themselves shunted back to square one as they look to find a buyer for an Italian centre-forward of their own.
Cutrone has certainly endured a season to forget.
Big things were expected of a former AC Milan star when he moved to Molineux in a £16 million deal last summer. But, after just three Premier League starts, a man who struggled to get to grips with life in the Premier League was packing his bags and returning to Italy.

Fiorentina signed Cutrone on loan with an option to buy. But that clause could go un-triggered, with the 22-year-old failing to find the net in seven Serie A matches for Beppe Iachini’s side.
As a result, the future of a one-time wonderkid who has fallen somewhat off the rails looks more uncertain than ever with the transfer window looming on the horizon.
