Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson could be on his way out of the Midlands club in the summer with Jeunes Footeux reporting Crystal Palace are keen, among other English clubs – and could Leeds be one of them?
Sanson, 27, joined Villa in January 2021 from Marseille – having clocked up 47 goal involvements in 157 games at the Ligue 1 club. The Guardian claim Villa spent £16million to lure the France U21 star to England.
But it has simply not worked out for Sanson. Villa’s no.8 has played just 17 times in more than 12 months at the club – managing just two starts since Steven Gerrard arrived at the club. JF claim he could leave in the summer.
Indeed, Palace are one of the clubs interested – as are French duo Rennes and Lille. But the report also says that a host of other, unnamed, English clubs would like to sign Sanson – and Leeds might just be one of those.

Two months after completing a move from Marseille to Villa, Sanson spoke to Canal+ (via FootMercato). He said that he has moved to Villa having rejected an offer from Leeds United. Now, he is looking for a new club.
Leeds still need a midfielder. They tried to get Brenden Aaronson in January and while they are expected to go again in the summer – especially with Jesse Marsch in charge – bigger clubs could become interested.
So, while Leeds like Sanson given their previous interest and they still require a midfielder – surely they are one of the English clubs looking to raid Villa for Sanson? They should be, given how good he can be.
