Mohamed Elyounoussi has been tipped to play a ‘massive part’ for Celtic ahead of their 10-in-a-row bid.
It was confirmed a few weeks ago that the Hoops had signed up the Southampton winger on a second season-long loan at Parkhead.
Elyounoussi, a £16 million signing by the Premier League club in 2018, looked like a revelation last term, but his 2019-20 campaign was prematurely ended within three months of it starting.
Neil Lennon’s side have the chance to make history next term. If they win the Premiership, it’ll be their 10th title on the spin, something that’s never been done and something that’ll sting Rangers forever.
The Celtic boss has certainly made a good start by bringing the Norway international back to Glasgow, and team-mate Greg Taylor says that he’s going to be simply huge this season.
He told Celtic’s official website: “Moi’s movement is top-class. I think he’ll play a massive part this season and be a massive player for us.
“I certainly enjoy having him in front of me and I think the boys certainly enjoy having him in the team. He scored again the other night and hopefully he can continue doing that.”
Elyounoussi already looks to be sharp and scored in a pre-season friendly defeat by Lyon last week.
It was a nothing game, specifically designed to help players on both sides find match fitness, and if Elyounoussi can have a full season with Celtic then Taylor is right, it’s huge.
That’s because he scored seven goals in 13 starts last season prior to his injury, but if fitness is on his side this time around then there’s no telling what kind of asset he could be.
