Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero has been speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the North London derby, and he did not mention Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal by name.
Even once.
Tottenham’s Cristian Romero does not call Arsenal by name
Antonio Conte’s Tottenham and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will face each other in the North London derby this weekend.
The Premier League game will be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
Romero, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina, is set to start for Spurs.
As you would expect, the 24-year-old £165,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender was speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the match.
The interview was in Italian, and although Romero ‘frequently’ mentioned ‘the club names of Tottenham, Belgrano along with former clubs Atalanta and Genoa’, he did ‘not say Arsenal’s name once’.
Romero described Arsenal as ‘loro’ (them).

Exciting game
The North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal promises to be a hugely exciting game.
Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment and will be determined to maintain their quest for the title.
Tottenham are unlikely to challenge for the title, but Antonio Conte’s side need to win to enhance their chances of finishing in the top four.
