Jamie O’Hara has said on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero wanted to get sent off against Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Sky Sports and talkSPORT pundit has said that the way Romero was playing for Tottenham today looked like he wanted to be dismissed and go back to Argentina and continue to celebrate his country’s success at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Romero was an integral part of the Argentina national football team that won the Qatar World Cup.
The 24-year-old £165,000-a-week (Spotrac) had recently come back to Hotspur Way for training, and the match against Villa at Tottenham Hotspur was his first since his return.
Romero was shown a yellow card, but that did not stop him from playing his usual hard game.
Tottenham lost the Premier League game against Villa 2-0.

Unai Emery’s Villa opened the scoring five minutes into the second half through Emi Buendia.
Tottenham and France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was at fault for the goal, as he should have done better to save the shot from Buendia.
Then in the 73rd minute, Douglas Luiz made it 2-0 to the Villans.
