Over the years, Elland Road has housed plenty of quality players, some of whom went on to bigger things while Leeds languished in the Championship.

Now, however, the Yorkshire-based side are in the Premier League, with a world-class manager roaming their dugout.

Their pulling power in the market is as good as it’s been for years, showcased through the signings of Raphinha and Rodrigo.

Having said that, here are three ex-Leeds stars who could arguably still do a job for Bielsa…

Lewis Cook

The England international sadly suffered relegation with Bournemouth last season, who he joined in a deal worth £7 million rising to £10 million with add-ons.

He has maintained a decent level, with his ex-Cherries teammate Jermain Defoe comparing him to Real Madrid maestro Luka Modric.

Alongside the industry of Kalvin Phillips and the box-to-box nature of Mateusz Klich, Cook’s tendency to sit deep and pull strings could work well.

After leaving for Burnley in a £15 million deal, Wood has netted 40 goals in 120 games for the Clarets, which is pretty good going.

The New Zealand international doesn’t compare to Rodrigo or Patrick Bamford, but his muscular, dominant frame would offer Bielsa a different option up front.

Robert Snodgrass

The Scot left to join Norwich in a deal worth around £6 million. Snodgrass has since become a Premier League star with Hull and West Ham, although he has only made one Premier League appearance for the Hammers this season.

Nevertheless, his left foot still possesses undoubted quality, and his work rate is very impressive – the latter aspect would presumably entice Bielsa, who orders his players to put the hard yards in.
