Douglas Luiz looks set to team up with Aston Villa this Monday.
Aston Villa fans were frustrated by what Douglas Luiz posted on Instagram this week.
Luiz joined the Villans in a £15 million deal from Manchester City last month [BBC Sport], but his social media activity indicates that he’s still in Brazil.
The 21-year-old is still waiting on a work permit to play in England, but there might’ve been a big development on that front.
According to Luiz’s personal trainer, the Brazilian starlet is arriving in the United Kingdom on Monday.
It remains to be seen if the fact he’s heading to Bodymoor Heath is confirmation of a successful work permit, but it seems likely that it is.
Luiz was Dean Smith’s 10th signing of the summer at the time of his announcement, though Tom Heaton and Marvelous Nakamba have since joined.
Smith’s side kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Tottenham next week.
