West Ham want Javier Hernandez but they must push for Andre Gray too.
West Ham are hopeful of pulling off a deal for Javier Hernandez, SkySports report.
Hernandez is the prolific striker the Hammers need – he has scored at a better rate than Romelu Lukaku and Diego Costa in the Premier League.
But his acquisition does not mean West Ham should abandon plans to sign Burnley’s Andre Gray too.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez shoots
The two are very different players, and would provide manager Slaven Bilic with alternate options.
Hernandez’s assets are his finishing and knack of being in the right place at the right time, while Gray has the pace to stretch defences.
Burnley’s Andre Gray celebrates
He can help open up spaces for Hernandez, and together the duo could form a potent partnership.
Gray would relieve the pressure on Chicharito and help him out at the Hammers. They also have a very different option up front with Andy Carroll.
The trio would give West Ham the striker options they have craved for a long time, and pose questions for even the meanest defences the Premier League can throw at them.
