Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly closing in on a return to France, with Ligue 1 giants Marseille about to complete the signing of the 32-year-old.
That’s according to TalkSport, which is backed up by Fabrizio Romano. The radio station claim that the Gabon international striker is willing to take a pay-cut to ensure his move back to France goes through without a hitch.
Chelsea are reportedly demanding just £5 million for the former Barcelona striker.
This is backed up by Italian journalist Romano, who claims that personal terms have been agreed between Marseille and the striker, with Aubameyang set to sign a three-year contract with the French club.

Romano also claims that negotiations with the Blues are not expected to be complicated and there is hope for a quick resolution over the striker’s future.
The striker, who really exploded onto the European scene during his time in France with Saint-Etienne, will be hoping to make an emotional return to Ligue 1 to try and rediscover his best form, as he approaches the twilight of his glittering career.
One issue remains regarding Chelsea and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
However, Nizaar Kinsella, of the Evening Standard, claims that the £5 million fee may well be an issue for the French giants.
Marseille are reportedly hoping for Chelsea to forego the fee for the striker, but if the Blues decide they want a fee, then Aubameyang may lose out on some of the wages on offer from the French giants.
Kinsella claims, however, that all parties are confident that a deal will be struck. Aubameyang is aware that he will need to take a considerable wage cut to the £150,000 he earns weekly, according to the same report.
Former Arsenal star Aubameyang has endured a poor few years and will be hoping that a move back to France can revitalise his career.
