1. Robin Van Persie, Arsenal
Robin Van Persie was in a rich vein of form last season, scoring 18 goals, 7 assists in 25 games in the League.
2. Rafael Van de Vaart, Tottenham
He takes the penalties, shares set pieces, and is often used as a second striker. He is a must for any team.
3. Shay Given, Aston Villa
Best value pound for pound than any other keeper in the League, and with Alex McLeish’s style of tightening up a defence, he is likely to keep quite a few clean sheets this season.
4. Kieran Gibbs, Arsenal
Another one to watch as he is more likely to get quite a few games this season, with Clichy gone and Wenger stating that he is looking at giving him a chance to shine this season.
5. Gary Cahill, Bolton
He has improved every season since joining Bolton in 2008, and is linked with a move to a top four club. Picking up three England caps in 2010, and averaging a goal every 10, games, you’ll want him in your side.
6. Joe Hart, Manchester City
The England number one returned from his loan spell at Birmingham to number 1 keeper at City. Hart managed 18 clean sheets in 38 games last term.
7. Nemanja Vidic, Manchester United
The central defender scored more FPL points than Rooney last year, amassing 148 – largely due to being involved in 14 of the team’s 15 clean sheets. A real attacking threat at every set piece, Vidic scored 5 league goals last season.
8. Luis Suarez, Liverpool
His 13 appearances last season provided him with a taste of the Premier League, and showed what he is capable of. He scored 4 goals, and averaged more than 1 bonus point per game.
9. Danny Graham, Swansea
Graham was Watford’s, and the Championship’s, top scorer last season and will benefit by the pace and ability from the Swansea wingers.
10. Martin Skrtel, Liverpool
The central defender contributed hugely towards the team’s 14 clean sheets, and looks likely to be a regular
in the heart of Liverpool’s
defence.
11. Florent Malouda, Chelsea
Chelsea’s best winger, he consistently is either in the top ten scorer / assister leader board (and sometimes in both).
12. Wayne Rooney, Manchester United
He doubled his assist tally from the previous year, with 11 putting him as equal 3rd ‘most creative’ in the division. This is one player that is Fantasy Gold, and his pre-season form looks impressive.
13. Scott Sinclair, Swansea
Sinclair fired 27 goals in 50 games last season, including a play-off final hat trick. He should play regularly and score goals this term.
14. Leighton Baines, Everton
Last season he played an impressive 38 games in the League, scoring 5 goals and assisting 11 times in total (highest assists for a defender in 10/11 season).
15. Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle
Joining Newcastle this summer, he is a set piece taker, has a history as a penalty specialist, and with Nolan gone and Barton going, Cabaye could well be fantasy gold too.
