Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have been linked with Mykhaylo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk, and Fabrizio Romano’s comments on the winger in CaughtOffside this morning will not be pleasing for the Gunners or the Magpies.
Arsenal and Newcastle United linked with Mykhaylo Mudryk
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano said on Que Golazo that Arsenal wanted to sign Mudryk from Shakhtar in the summer transfer window, adding that the Gunners remain keen on the 21-year-old Ukraine international winger.
CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has reported on Twitter that Newcastle, Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax are tracking the youngster now.
Romano has given his take on the situation of Mudryk in CaughtOffside.
The Italian journalist has claimed that there will be 15 clubs interested in the winger, and has outlined how much Shakhtar will want for him.

Fabrizio Romano’s take
Romano told CaughtOffisde: “Despite growing speculation, I have no updates on Mudryk now – I think he will be linked with 15 clubs in the next three months, and it’s normal as he’s a top talent, but nothing will be decided now.
“Shakhtar will take their time and I’m sure they want more than €45-50m for Mudryk … but we’ve to see how his performances in the Champions League will be in the next weeks.
“I’m a big fan of the player, still only 21 years old and doing important things in the Champions League, but I can’t currently say much more in terms of where we’ll be seeing him in the future.”
Competition
Fabrizio Romano is one of the best transfer experts out there, and his prediction that 15 clubs will be linked with Mykhaylo Mudryk in the coming months will come as a blow for Arsenal and Newcastle United.
This means that the Gunners and the Magpies will face stiff competition for the winger and will have to work extremely hard to sign him in the January transfer window.
