Sky Sports pundit Jay Bothroyd has criticised Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez.
The former Arsenal prospect has said on Sky Sports that Darwin Nunez has been underwhelming for Liverpool so far.
The Sky Sports pundit wants the 24-year-old to show more composure as a striker.
Bothroyd has noted that Nunez has missed loads of chances for Liverpool, adding that the £140,000-a-week (Spotrac) striker has not been a success in the Premier League yet.
Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer of 2022.
The Uruguay international striker has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season.

Nunez has scored two goals and given one assist in those games.
The Liverpool no. 9 made 19 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the league last season.
The striker scored nine goals and gave three assists in those games.
Nunez also made five starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season.
The Ururuguan star scored four goals in those games.
Criticism for Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez
Bothroyd said about Nunez, as transcribed by TBR: “For me, he’s between a C and a D.
“When he has played he’s played the majority of games on the left, and when he has played as a striker I don’t think he’s played well.
“We spoke about missing chances, and he’s missed loads of chances.
“I know pricetags, at £80m, I’m expecting him to come in and score goals, but he hasn’t done it in the Premier League yet.
“He has to really work on his composure as a striker.”
Darwin Nunez will come good for Liverpool
In our view, Darwin Nunez will eventually come good for Liverpool.
Yes, Nunez has not scored a lot of goals for the Reds.
And yes, the Uruguay international striker misses a lot of chances.
But, he does tend to work hard and does get into good positions to score.
Nunez does get chances.
He just rushes his efforts and at times makes the wrong decisions.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff will be able to sort that out for Nunez at some point.
