The attacker would be a welcome addition to the Pedro Caixinha revolution at Ibrox.

New Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha will undoubtedly be looking to improve the Glasgow club this summer and put his own stamp on the team.

There is surely no doubt that returning to his native Portugal to do so might be a very tempting option.

One area Rangers need to improve is up front, with a more potent front-man needed to bring the goals for the club.

One player in Portugal they should certainly consider is Gil Vicente forward Paulinho.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form this season. He has scored 14 goals in 29 league games for the club, mostly from the right-wing and would be perfect for a 4-3-3 formation.

None of his 14 goals this season have come from the penalty spot and Rangers would be signing a skilled talisman if they managed such a deal.

What might even make a move more likely and certainly easier is his contract situation. The Portuguese attacker is out of contract in the summer and his agency is the same one that represents Caixinha, involving former Ger and countryman Pedro Mendes.

The puzzle pieces are there and Rangers could make this a great fit.
