Michy Batshuayi has confirmed on Instagram that he will not be signing for Besiktas permanently, and he will be returning to Chelsea, amid a potential move to Leeds and Everton. The Belgian is out of contract in June 2023.
Batshuayi, 28, joined Besiktas on loan last summer and scored 14 goals in 41 appearances. A difficult season for the Turkish giants, who failed to even qualify for European football. They finished in sixth place in the SuperLig.
It was the fifth loan of Batshuayi’s six-year stint at Chelsea. He has played for Palace twice, Dortmund, Valencia and now Besiktas. He has also managed to score 25 goals in 77 games for Chelsea, during that time.

This summer represents the last opportunity to bring in some cash for Batshuayi. Out of contract next summer, Chelsea need to sell – and reports claim he has been offered to both Leeds and Frank Lampard at Everton.
The Belgium star will be keen to get regular football ahead of the World Cup. Now, an update. He has confirmed he will be leaving Besiktas, and returning to Chelsea, with a heartfelt post on his Instagram page.
Batshuayi returns ahead of potential Leeds and Everton move
It is has been a testing time for Batshuayi at Chelsea – one that is probably undeserved. While Chelsea do need a striker to compete with Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, Batshuayi is likely to leave again.
Not only because Chelsea need to sell the £33m signing (Guardian) given his contract, but because of the World Cup. So, Leeds or Everton? The Toffees should look at a reunion with Lampard, if Dom Calvert-Lewin departs.
Meanwhile, Leeds need a striker to compete with Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt. Bamford has been injured all season and Gelhardt is still learning his trade. Either would surely take a chance on Batshuayi, this summer.
