Everton have been linked with a number of players ahead of this summer’s transfer window. The Toffees are said to be chasing the biggest and the best with the likes of Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and other huge stars said to be on their wish list.

However, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been linked with a few smart and inexpensive deals too. One such deal is their reported interest in St. Etienne’s Denis Bouanga.

Le 10 Sport claimed on Monday that an offer from Everton for the 25-year-old attacker is in preparation with St Etienne willing to let him leave for around £13.3 million.

Bouanga has had an impressive season in France, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

The Gabonese international, due to his nationality, will always be associated with his country’s biggest footballer – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Bouanga has embraced the comparisions and claimed last summer that he wants to emulate the Arsenal man in the coming years.

He told RMC Sport last year: “Aubameyang gave me some good advice, it gave me even more desire. He will remain an icon here, I’m just starting. I hope to follow in his footsteps, I aspire to do the same. He’s an example here.”

Can Bouanga emulate Aubameyang at Everton?

Aubameyang initially made a name for himself in St. Etienne before securing a move to German giants Borussia Dortmund. He then proved himself to be one of the best in the business before switching to Arsenal a few years ago.

Bouanga certainly has made a name for himself at St. Etienne after just one season there. A move to a club like Everton could be his big chance to show what he is capable of, and under Ancelotti, he can reach the heights that his countryman has, in Europe.
