Andros Townsend has been speaking to talkSPORT about his ex-teammate Harry Kane, and he’s made quite a bold statement about the Tottenham talisman.

The Crystal Palace forward – who cost the Eagles £13 million – said: ‘For me, he’s the best striker in world football bar none. I think he is very underappreciated.

‘People love to speak about the Lewandowski’s and Benzema’s, but if those guys came to the Premier League they would not hit the numbers that Harry Kane has been hitting on a consistent basis.’

To state that Kane is better than Lewandowski and Benzema is some statement from Townsend, given the duo’s standing in football.

The Bayern Munich hitman has netted a remarkable 424 goals across his career in just 601 games.

Impressively, the Polish marksman has also won 22 trophies throughout his incredible career, as Transfermarkt shows.

Lewandowski has won eight Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokal cups, one Champions League title, five German Super Cups and one UEFA Super Cup.

He’s also won one Ekstraklasa title, along with one Polish Cup and one Polish Super Cup, taking his total amount of winners medals to a huge 22.

In Benzema’s case, he’s amazingly won even more, having lifted 29 trophies throughout his career.

They include four Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey successes, three Spanish Super Cups, four Ligue 1 titles and one French Cup.

The Real Madrid No.9 has also won a whopping four FIFA Club World Cups, one Under-17 European Championship, three UEFA Super Cup and four French Super Cups.

Benzema also has 321 career goals.

Kane might not have the same trophy cabinet as the aforementioned duo, but hopefully his efforts so far this season can see him lift the silverware he deserves.
