Naby Keita was left concerned about his Liverpool future after something Jürgen Klopp did back in May.
What’s the story?
Well – according to 90min – the Guinea international was disappointed to be left out of the starting XI for Liverpool’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
Keita is believed to have felt he was playing some of the best football of his career towards the end of last season, and was upset to have been overlooked by Klopp for the showpiece event in Paris, which Liverpool lost 1-0.
The £130,000-a-week man then told the Reds that he was contemplating his future, as he also hadn’t been offered a new contract.
Keita’s situation remains an issue for Liverpool. His current terms expire at the end of the season, and as things stand, negotiations over a fresh deal have not progressed into anything substantial.
Interestingly, 90min add that Tottenham are considering a move for the 27-year-old.
Keita has only started two Premier League games for Liverpool this season, in what has been yet another campaign ravaged by injury problems.

In our view, it would be best for Liverpool to let Keita go when his contract expires this summer.
Things haven’t worked out for the Liverpool No.8 since his move from RB Leipzig, despite plenty of excitement and expectation surrounding his arrival at Anfield.
Klopp has far too many injury prone players, and the focus should now turn to players with superb fitness records in the market, rather than those who can only deliver a string of impressive displays before spending weeks on the sidelines.
Liverpool have been too loyal to some players, arguably keeping them in the first team longer than they should – such as Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson.
Waving goodbye to Keita would be the start of a ruthless overhaul Klopp needs to turn things around on Merseyside.
