Dominic Calvert-Lewin has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on Everton’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool today.
The England international wrote: ‘Missed the fans out there today. Unbeaten run goes on, goals keep coming.’
The ex-Sheffield United striker netted a vital equaliser for the Toffees in the 81st minute, leaping in a style similar to Cristiano Ronaldo to nod past Adrian.
His goal helps keep Everton at the top of the Premier League table at the time of writing, as Carlo Ancelotti’s men sit on 13 points from their opening five matches.
For Calvert-Lewin, he is on quite some run.
His header against Jurgen Klopp’s side marked his tenth goal for Everton already this season in just seven games, not including his header for England against Belgium.
11 goals for club and country at this stage of the campaign takes some doing – it just doesn’t look like the 23-year-old is going to stop scoring.
Despite his header, the Merseyside derby was clouded in controversy.
Liverpool had a late Jordan Henderson goal ruled out for a very, very tight offside call on Sadio Mane, while Richarlison was also sent off for a challenge on Thiago.
Regardless, Ancelotti’s side still sit at the top of the Premier League at the time of writing, three points above the Champions.
