Cairney lifeline?

According to The Daily Mail, West Ham United have the slightest of lifelines in their pursuit of Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney.

The Mail claims that the £40 million-rated star will stay with promotion-chasing Fulham – unless West Ham stump up an “extraordinary” bid for the 27-year-old.

Llorente staying at Tottenham for now

BBC Sport reported on Tuesday that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea had held discussions over a deal which would see Fernando Llorente and Michy Batshuayi swap places.

The Spaniard has struggled for form since his summer move to Tottenham but Batshuayi is thought to have rejected a move to North London on the basis that he wouldn’t be first-choice striker.

And it looks like that one is definitely off the table now after the Belgian hitman was photographed undergoing a medical with Borussia Dortmund.

Unless Spurs can find a buyer for the 32-year-old and identify a replacement, then it looks like the former Swansea City man stays.

Second Holding offer knocked back

Elsewhere, The Daily Mail also reported that Burnley have been knocked back with a second bid for Arsenal defender Rob Holding.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for Jonny Evans and signing another centre-back might give Arsene Wenger freedom to let one go.

But it doesn’t look like the 22-year-old is going anywhere after The Mail claimed that their second bid was “way short” of what the North Londoners wanted.

Saivet leaving on loan

Finally, Henri Saivet has completed a loan move from Newcastle United to Turkish side Sivasspor, report The Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old has only made one Premier League appearance this season – the win at West Ham, where he scored – but has fallen out of favour again under Rafael Benitez.

It has not been confirmed by Newcastle as of yet, but the departure looks imminent.
