Leeds United were linked with a move for Bristol City pair.

Leeds United considered a move for Bristol City duo Aden Flint and Joe Bryan in the summer, only to be denied by the club’s lofty valuation of the pair.

The Bristol Post reported it would cost Leeds £12 million to convince the Robins into a sale, a fee which appeared to put an end to the Whites’ interest.

However based on early season form, £12 million would have been money well spent by Leeds United if they had splashed out for the pair, with the £15 million gained from selling Chris Wood.

Leeds spent a very small portion of that sum on Jay-Roy Grot and Pawel Cibicki, forwards who are yet to score or start for the club in the Championship.

According to Opta powered website whoscored.com, Flint and Bryan are among the best six rated players in the Championship this season.

Bryan is rated as the best left-back in the division, and Flint one of the two best centre-backs.

Left-back has been a problem position for Leeds this season after Charlie Taylor’s exit, and the Whites still do not have a settled centre-back partnership.

Failing to stump up the money was a missed opportunity for Leeds, but they still have the money available, and it is still a viable option in the January transfer window for them if they are bold enough to pursue it.
