Leeds United have made a bid to sign Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu amid strong interest from a number of clubs.
Chelsea are now weighing up an offer from Leeds United as they chase a deal for Ethan Ampadu.
That is according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Leeds have lodged an offer to sign Ampadu.
It’s suggested that whilst Ampadu has been named in the Chelsea squad to tour the United States, he could be left behind in London to finalise a move.
Ampadu is understood to have interest from Premier League clubs as well as teams in Italy and Spain.
However, Leeds are the only club to have lodged a firm offer to sign Ampadu and are now hoping to get a deal done.
Udinese are also thought to be interested in signing Ampadu with Chelsea seeking around £12million for his signature.
That’s a lofty price tag with just a year left on his Chelsea contract and it’s unclear if Leeds will pay anywhere near that price.

The time is right for Leeds United target Ethan Ampadu to leave Chelsea
Ampadu – the son of former Arsenal player Kwame Ampadu – came up in the ranks at Exeter City and made 13 first-team appearances.
Chelsea pounced in 2017, believing that Ampadu had the potential to become a star.
Ampadu has made just one Premier League appearance for Chelsea and has spent most of his time out on loan.

RB Leipzig, Sheffield United, Venezia and Spezia have all taken Ampadu on loan in recent years but those spells haven’t pushed him into Chelsea’s first-team reckoning.
Now 22, Ampadu needs to focus on his development and needs to settle down into a first-team role somewhere.
A holding midfielder or centre back, Ampadu could be a replacement for Tyler Adams, who is attracting major interest.
Ampadu – who has 44 Wales caps – still has bags of potential and he should be very interested in the chance to play a starring role at Leeds.
