Manchester City and Celtic have struck up a positive relationship over the past few seasons, with the Scottish champions striking deals to take their young talents on loan.

Defender Jason Denayer was an impressive signing two seasons ago, and Patrick Roberts has spent the past year and a half at Celtic Park as he looks to progress his career, while John Guidetti previously looked superb early into his spell at the club.

Roberts’s spell is set to end this June, and there is one Manchester City forward who Brendan Rodgers should target for their next move, Enes Unal.

Enes Unal was summer signing from Turkish side Bursaspor, and was immediately farmed out to Dutch side FC Twente.

Unal has been a regular in Holland, and has been on the scoresheet frequently too. The 19-year-old has scored 12 goals in 24 games for Twente, a bright sign of what he can offer.

Making the jump into the Manchester City XI though will not be easy, and another spell out on loan could be just what is required.

A move to Celtic would be ideal, signing for a club able to compete for trophies, as opposed to Twente who sit seventh in the Eredivisie at present.

Unal would get the chance to play Champions League football, and form a fearsome partnership up front with Moussa Dembele, and becoming an instant replacement if the Frenchman is sold.

It is a deal which is potentially viable, and one Celtic should determinedly pursue as they look to continue their dominance of Scottish football.
