Mohammed Kudus now has his heart set on a move to Ajax despite interest from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton, according to Ekstra Bladet.

One of the most legendary talent-spotters in the game appears to have his beady eyes firmly fixed on another fresh-faced wonder-kid making waves in the north.

Even at the age of 77, John Steen Olsen remains as influential as ever within the walls of the Johan Cruyff Arena.

And a man who discovered a young Christian Eriksen, Kasper Dolberg and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the verge of luring another Scandinavian starlet to the Dutch capital.

According to reports in Denmark, 19-year-old Nordsjaelland star Kudus is edging closer to a move to Ajax after a 12-goal breakthrough season in the Eliteserien.

The report adds that Everton and Borussia Monchengladbach are set to miss out – as are Liverpool and Tottenham sides who have been linked via Calciomercato and FootMercato.

Though this does not mean that Kudus will never be strutting his stuff on English soil.

Patience is a virtue here, with the Ghana international planning first to hone his considerable talents at the esteemed Ajax finishing school before, a la Hakim Ziyech and co, heading abroad again.

Ekstra Bladet claims that Kudus wants a club where he would be guaranteed first-team football.

And given that some of Europe’s hottest talents have been put on the pathway to stardom at the 2019 Champions League semi-finalists, it is hard to imagine a better destination for a Golden Boy nominee who has been labelled the new Michael Essien.

Whether he can follow in the footsteps of Olsen’s other offspring, Eriksen, Dolberg and a certain Swedish legend, is up for Kudus to prove.
