Dejan Lovren is already enjoying his post-Liverpool career it seems.

The Croatia international called time on his six-year spell at Anfield this summer by joining Zenit St Petersburg in an £11 million deal.

And it’s taken only 12 days for the former Liverpool stalwart to get his hands on another trophy.

Lovren, who lifted the Premier League for the Reds last month, played 90 minutes on Friday as Zenit beat Lokomotiv Moscow to win the Super Cup in Russia.

Here’s how Lovren reacted to the victory on Instagram shortly afterwards.

He was a popular player among his Liverpool team-mates – not so much among the fans at times due to his error-prone ways occasionally – and Jurgen Klopp will definitely need to replace him.

Klopp already has Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez, but the German manager lost a vastly-experienced player in the form of Lovren and they need to sign another.

They could just promote teenager Sepp van den Berg, who moved to Anfield last summer, but he’s only 18 and Liverpool could be in serious trouble if they had to play him in the Premier League next term.
