Tottenham have tested the waters with Manchester United over a potential deal for Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail suggest that their enquiry has been given little encouragement however, and that Jose Mourinho wants to keep the Frenchman around as cover.

They also claim that Mauricio Pochettino will monitor the situation and is more likely to make a move to reunite with the energetic midfielder in January.

The Irishman is viewed as an alternative option if Jack Wilshere doesn’t arrive on loan.
