Tottenham and West Ham to fail in Gomes pursuit

Earlier in the day, it was believed that Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes would be heading out on loan, having picked Tottenham over West Ham United. However, Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague claims that 24-year-old Portugal international Gomes won’t be moving on tonight, presumably because Barcelona couldn’t find a replacement.

Barkley appears to snub Chelsea

Chelsea are hoping to get deals over the line for Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater, but Sky Sports claim that Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has changed his mind about a deal with the Blues at the last minute. The 23-year-old midfielder is out of contract next summer, meaning Everton were hoping to sell him before he leaves for free, but could end up selling in January anyway.

Celtic snap up Edouard

Speculation in recent days has suggested that Celtic have been targeting a late deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Odsonne Edouard, and that move has now gone through. The Bhoys have confirmed on their official website that Edouard, 21, has signed a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent move.

Charlton announce Dodoo deal

After previously being linked with a move to Nottingham Forest on deadline day, Rangers winger Joe Dodoo has made a surprise move to Charlton Athletic. The Addicks have confirmed on their official site that the Ghanaian forward has signed on loan until January 1st, with Forest seemingly missing out on his signature.

West Ham call off Quina move

According to Sky Sports, West Ham United have pulled the plug on youngster Domingos Quina’s proposed loan move to Sheffield United. It’s believed that the Portuguese teenager, who joined West Ham from Chelsea last summer, was all set for a move to Bramall Lane, but the Hammers have changed their mind at the last minute.

Sakho situation resolved?

Another player potentially staying with West Ham is forward Diafra Sakho, with Sky Sports reporting that he will remain at the London Stadium after a remarkable couple of days for the Senegal international. After undergoing a medical with Rennes without West Ham’s permission and then heading to Chelmsford races with his agent this afternoon, Sakho appears to be settling for staying with West Ham.

Leicester confirm Dragovic capture

Whilst speculation over Danny Drinkwater’s future continues, Leicester have snapped up another defender this evening as they have confirmed on their official website that Aleksandar Dragovic has joined from Bayer Leverkusen. The Austrian international signs on loan until the end of the season, and will now compete with Harry Maguire, Robert Huth and Wes Morgan.

Brighton snap up Tim Krul

Despite breaking their transfer record for Australian international Mat Ryan earlier this summer, Brighton have signed another goalkeeper today in Newcastle’s Tim Krul. The 29-year-old has been with the Magpies for 12 years, but after loan spells with Ajax and AZ Alkmaar last season, he has moved to Brighton on loan until the end of the season, as confirmed on the Seagulls’ official website.

Derby and Sheffield Wednesday complete loan swap

Derby County have taken to Twitter tonight to confirm the signing of Sheffield Wednesday striker Sam Winnall, who joins on loan until the end of the season, whilst midfielder Jacob Butterfield has left the Rams for Wednesday in a similar deal. Striker Winnall only joined Wednesday from Barnsley in January but is already moving on, whilst Butterfield has been pushed down the Derby pecking order under Gary Rowett.
