Ligue 1 ace Gaetan Laborde has suggested he wouldn’t be interested in a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United or Newcastle, speaking to Midi Libre.

The Montpellier striker has been very vocal about his future in recent weeks.

And, after previously insisting he had little interest in leaving the eighth-place outfit until the end of the season, it seems his stance has softened in the past few days.

But it will take an extra-special offer to convince Laborde a winter switch is the way to go.

Eurosport claims Wolves are interested, with Raul Jimenez yet to return from a fractured skull.

West Ham and Newcastle were also mulling over £11 million bids of their own (L’Equipe).

But, with all due respect to the Premier League trio, it will take a better offer than that to convince Laborde the grass is greener away from the Stade de la Mosson.

“We know the financial situation of clubs is very complicated. If there’s an interesting offer for me and the club, we’re not going to be stupid, we’ll talk about it,” says Laborde, who has contributed six goals and five assists this season.

“There are rumours, contacts, interested clubs, but there is nothing on the president’s desk. I don’t know if there is a good time to leave, but there has to be this feeling, this desire to go to a club.

“I want to feel the stuff as I felt it for Montpellier. And for now, there isn’t all of that.”

Reading between the lines, it’s pretty clear none of the clubs to have expressed an interest have Laborde’s blood pumping.

Perhaps that has something to do with the fact Wolves and Newcastle are 14th and 15th in the table as things stand, closer to the relegation zone than they are to the European places.
