The Daily Mail claim that Newcastle have finally got their striker, with Islam Slimani’s set to join from Leicester City.

Newcastle have beaten West Ham to the signature of the Algerian, who will join on loan.

Forest playing hard-ball

According to the Daily Mirror, Burnley are still pushing to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall.

Burnley have had three bids for Worrall turned down this month by Forest, but could raise their offer even further before the deadline closes tonight.

Palace confident

Crystal Palace are said by the Daily Mail to be feeling very confident that they can get a deal for Jordan Hugill done.

The Preston North End striker is at the top of Roy Hodgson’s shortlist, and could move to Palace in an £8 million deal.

West Ham frustration

According to he Guardian, West Ham United are facing frustration in their search for a new central midfielder.

The Hammers have been linked with Tom Cairney and Leander Dendoncker, as they look to improve their squad, but neither transfer is likely to go through this month.

Rangers reject £8m

Glasgow Rangers continue to stand firm in their desire to keep hold of star striker Alfredo Morelos, despite links with China.

Sky Sports claim that Guangzhou Evergrande have made an £8m bid for Morelos, but Graeme Murty’s side are determined to keep him at Ibrox.
