Palace set to re-sign Sako

Crystal Palace feature first in our 11am round-up as French newspaper L’Equipe claim Roy Hodgson is making the surprise decision to bring back Bakary Sako – after the Eagles released him earlier this summer.

The 30-year-old is believed to have been contacted by the Premier League club, and is expected to re-sign at Selhurst Park in the coming hours.

Lyon threaten Aston Villa deal

The Daily Mirror had claimed that impressive French defender Harold Moukoudi was on his way to Steve Bruce’s Villa, for a fee believed to be in the region of £10million.

But deadline day looks to have struck once again, and French outlet Yahoo Sport FR claim Lyon have now entered the race to sign the 20-year-old. It could prevent Villa from signing the France youth international.

QPR release Sheffield United and Millwall target

Linked with a move to either Sheffield United or Millwall, Conor Washington looks increasingly likely to have a new club before 5pm after QPR decided to release the striker, as confirmed on their official website.

Sky Sports have claimed on their transfer centre (Friday, 10:32am) that both Millwall and The Blades are keen on landing the Northern Ireland international and a move seems even more likely now.

Gloucestershire Live claim that League Two minnows Cheltenham Town have completed the signing of 19-year-old Aston Villa striker Kelsey Mooney, though a deal is yet to be confirmed by the Robins.

The report does not specify how long Mooney will remain at Cheltenham, but his Villa contract expires at the end of the season. He is the son of Football League journeyman Tommy Mooney.
