Bruce hopes for midfielder signing today
As per the Sunderland Echo, Steve Bruce hopes the signing of 21-year-old midfielder Rodrigo Vilca will be completed today.
He said: “The young Peruvian player, we hope, will arrive. He’ll be for the Academy to start with, that’s for sure. He’s not really going to be involved with the first team.”
It has been expected that the midfielder would join for a number of days, but today should be the day.
Forest in striker chase
According to the Daily Mirror (5/10; page 43), Nottingham Forest want to sign Serdar Dursun today.
The hitman plays for Darmstadt, where he scored 16 goals in the German second tier last season.
This one seems to have come out of the blue but Sabri Lamouchi may well want some extra firepower after a slow start to the season.

According to the Guardian’s transfer liveblog, 10:43, 05/10, Leicester winger Rachid Ghezzal is having a medical with Besiktas.
He is set for a loan exit and will hope to reinvigorate a career which has stalled at the King Power Stadium.
Saints told no over Williams
According to the Daily Mirror, Southampton will not be signing Brandon Williams on loan today.
With the impending arrival of Alex Telles from Porto, the Saints apparently made a loan enquiry over loaning Williams.
But it seems the academy graduae will be going nowhere today.
Silva to leave West Ham on loan
