Bayern Munich playmaker Marcel Sabitzer is reportedly open to leaving the Bundesliga giants this summer just one year after rejecting Arsenal and Tottenham to move to the club.
According to Bild and Sport1, the Austrian international has struggled to adapt to life in Bavaria after Julien Nagelsmann signed his former RB Leipzig captain last year following the German coach’s move to Bayern, with Sabitzer a target for both Arsenal and Tottenham.
The two north London clubs were hotly linked with the Bundesliga star throughout the summer, yet it was Bayern who ultimately won the race for Sabitzer, with the midfielder now earning a reported £115,000-a-week with the European titans.
As per Sport1, Bayern will allow Sabitzer to leave this summer if they can break even on the €15m (£12m) the club spent on the 27-year-old last year, with Nagelsmann’s side on the verge of signing Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax if reports are to be believed.
Indeed, Sabitzer’s future now looks to be away from Bayern just one year after joining the club, yet it is not yet known if either Arsenal or Tottenham will reignite their interest in the Austrian international.
After all, since the midfielder’s move to Bayern we have seen Martin Odegaard become the creative heartbeat of Arsenal’s starting XI, whilst Antonio Conte’s system at Tottenham would make it difficult to even fit Sabitzer into the Italian’s style of play.
Sabitzer shot himself in the foot moving to Bayern last summer

Sabitzer’s move to Bayern last summer seemed to have come out of nowhere and had no real reason, with the transfer seen by many as just another way for the Bavarian club to weaken Bundesliga rival by plucking their best player from the market.
And 12 months later, the decision is proving to be nothing more than just that, with Sabitzer hardly featuring for Bayern and the club themselves already scrambling to sell the Austrian, who a year ago could have signed for either Arsenal or Tottenham in a deal that would have been more beneficial for all parties involved.
