Last January saw Brighton and Hove Albion linked with a huge move for a South American talent.

El Diario reported that Brighton made a whopping £7.3 million offer for Ecuador international Miller Bolanos.

Bolanos is considered one of Ecuador’s top talents and has scored eight goals in 20 caps for La Tri. He had been a revelation at former club Emelec, which attracted the attention of Brighton.

However, he ended up remaining in South America, joining Brazilian side Gremio after rejecting moves to play in China.

Initially it looked like Brighton had not missed out on much, but in recent months Bolanos has kicked into gear.

The bullish striker has scored 11 goals in his last 19 games for club and country, turning around his form after a dip.

Brighton are currently pushing for promotion and have top striking options already with the likes of Glenn Murray, Sam Baldock and Tomer Hemed. But with Bolanos in the team, it is easy to believe the Seagulls might have been promoted by now considering his electric streak of form.
