Here’s 11 facts about Arsenal that Arsenal fans already know.
1. In 2003/04 Arsenal achieved a historic feat by winning the Premier League unbeaten. They also created a record of 49 games unbeaten in the league that started at the end of the 2002/03 season, and ended in the early part of the 2004/05 season.
2. David O’Leary holds the record for the most appearances for the club, with 722 appearances from 1975 to 1993.
3. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has scored the most goals for Arsenal, with 226 goals in 369 games from 2000-07.
4. The club only won one home game all season in 1913. This resulted in their relegation, and is the only
time in their history that the Gunners have been relegated.
5. Arsenal have won the FA Cup 10 times – in 1929–30, 1935–36, 1949–50, 1970–71, 1978–79, 1992–93, 1997–98, 2001–02, 2002–03, 2004–05.
6. Ted Drake scored 7 goals in a single match against Aston Villa in December 1935, the most in Arsenal’s history.
7. Arsenal’s youngest goalscorer is Cesc Fabregas. When he scored in the League Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers in December 2003, he was 16 years and 212 days.
8. Arsene Wenger became the first foreign manager to lift the Premiership title, when Arsenal won it in the season of 1997-98.
9. In 1993 Arsenal came the first team to win the FA Cup and League Cup double.
10. When Arsenal played Manchester United on the 31 January 2010 they became the first team to play a match broadcast live in 3D.
11. Arsenal are the first and only British side to defeat both Milanese teams Internazionale and Milan at the San Siro – 5-1 (UEFA Champions League group stage , 25 November 2003), 2-0 (UEFA Champions League second round second leg, 4 March 2008) respectively.
